Review - Aerosoft DHC-2 Beaver - Panel

I’m an old coot, worn out around the edges, and with many download panels I get confused: I forget whether I’m supposed to hold the joystick in my right hand and the magnifying glass in the left, or the other way around. Some of those gauges are small and unreadable when designers try to cram a wide panel into one shot! Well, you’ll be pleased to know that Aerosoft chose a fantastic approach to solving the mini-gauge issue: They’ve sectionalized the panel and made it extremely easy to display/hide the various sections, so that whatever is up there is clearly readable! Also noteworthy is the fact that gauge activity is smooth and realistic; I’ve always found it a bit odd that I didn’t have to pass through 3300 feet on my way up to 3500, you know? There are several “Click Spots” on this panel, which explode the view of certain crucial instruments…another handy feature that doesn’t show up very often. To exemplify how far Aerosoft went for realism, there’s even a load-meter on the panel that shows the electrical load as you turn lights on and off!
